The Smolyan lakes are located above the town of Smolyan, at the foot of Snezhanka peak and the Orpheus rocks. In the distant past they were 20 in number, but today there are only 9. However, the area attracts tourists with unique views and many places for rest. The Smolyan Lakes can be reached by a transition or by a two-seater lift (lift №4).
